Davenport is a contemporary take on the built-in study desk, also known as bureau. To optimize space usage in a small Manhattan apartment, the legs are removed, and it is mounted directly against the wall. The traditional fine furniture hardwood material is replaced with the industrial mulitplex plywood. And the typical leather cladding is replaced by forbo furniture linoleum, which creates durable work surfaces with pleasant haptic qualities.
